Could you please suggest me how can I improve my communication? I have joined one year spoken classes as well but I don't see any improvement? Please advice.

Nikita ... I teach Communication and in that I teach English too. The difference in the way I teach is first of all there is no grammar classes whatsoever. Secondly I completely discourage reading Newspapers. third is I advice you NOT to speak to another person in English. ALL True but with conditions....

Secondly I completely discourage reading Newspapers. third is I advice you NOT to speak to another person in English. ALL True but with conditions. 1. Newspapers nowadays have mastered TRP english and TRP titles. All their content nearly 95% is on crime , violence and related. You will learn all the worng things. Long long and even longer back the Newspaper English was definitely a great way to learn . NO MORE. 2. Speaking to someone means the other has to know BETTER English than YOU. AAAND he/she must be empathetic towards your desire to learn the language. I have an online Spoken English Course you may want to explore it. read less

Communication is as much non-verbal as it is about your language skills. Your confidence, diction, presentation, body language etc. matters a lot and you might want to join some interactive forums to improve yourself in this direction.

Hi Nikita, You probably need to make your communication more suitable to the listener. And for that you need to use language that the listener can easily understand. Use simple words to express yourself. In addition, keep a track for how long you speak. You ought to be able to express yourself in about 15 seconds in a normal conversation and then you must ‘listen’. (Effective listening is equally important in communication.) Maybe you are not listening adequately enough to give a proper response. Also, focus only on one topic at a time. That will bring about more clarity in what you have to say. And try and sound positive – this can be easily achieved by using positive vocabulary. Hope that helps. read less
