How do I improve maths in class 9?

First of all Maths isn't difficult at all. You just have to practice it daily. 

You just have to devote 1 hour for Maths. This is a self study hour. This hour do not fall in school teaching or classes teaching. 

Make a notebook of Maths 1 and Maths 2. Every day solve atleast 3-4 sums/questions in each book. This should be completed within that hour.

This could improve your writing speed and also your practice for Maths sums. 

It is highly notable that no one can remain at one place or can concentrate for more than 15 minutes. And school teaching or classes teaching is not a movie which you will be interested but anyways, you have to tackle this battle of you. Well, see if this advice could work and notify me. Aamir, To improve your maths, firstly revise the topics of the earlier class associated with that for eg- if you are going to study linear equations in two variables,revise the chapter linear equations in one variables from 8th class, this will help to understand the chapter clearly and in better way. Also you should practice each and every questions of your textbook at least twice , and do not forget to practice questions from unit tests, half yearly etc. Also solving questions from books like RD and all is also a good choice(if you already mastered the textbook)

Start with the basics first

If still not understanding anything pick up you textbook.

Start with the current chapter taught in your school and try to solve. If you are understanding that sum try to read explanation already given by chapter 

And in that if you are not understanding anything then Google the term and try to find out or opt for any online teaching program and clear your doubts.

One step at a time will lead you to the top provided you be the constistent one.

As far as Maths is concerned identify your areas of concern. I would suggest many of students see calculations as a challenge as they have earnt tables till 10 or 12. So see that you have good hold on tables till 30, suares and cubes till 30. Adopt smart ways of simplifying the calculations. 99% of your sums are easy as they can be simplified with a strong tables base. Prepare chapterwise formula book. Use it frequenly whenever you are solving sums. When you solve sums see that you solve with all steps as per your school maths teacher. Prepare a separate book wherein you note down important steps of all sums as per your undersnding. So when you revise these you will rein alert at those areas. Have a daily habit of revising sums by solving them again at home. Avoid using calculators for calculations.
