(i) Metal hydrgen (bi)carbonate/Metal Carbonate + Acid ---> Metal salt + H2O + CO2
NaHCO3 / Na2CO3 + HCl ---> NaCl + H2O + CO2
KHCO3 / K2CO3 + HCl ---> KCl + H2O + CO2
When metal carbonates/bicarbonates react with an acid, a metal salt, water and carbondioxide are formed.
(ii) Metal + Acid ---> Metal Salt + H2
Zn + HCl ---> ZnCl2 + H2
Mg + HCl ---> MgCl2 + H2
