Answer The Non-cooperation Movement in India, launched by Mahatma Gandhi in 1920, had several causes:
Khilafat Movement: One of the primary causes was the Khilafat Movement, initiated by Indian Muslims to protest against the dismantling of the Ottoman Caliphate by the Allied Powers after World War I. Jallianwala Bagh Massacre: The brutal massacre of hundreds of unarmed civilians by British troops at Jallianwala Bagh in Amritsar on April 13, 1919, shocked the nation and intensified anti-British sentiments. This event further fueled the demand for independence and served as a catalyst for the Non-cooperation Movement.
