You should try to talk more in English at home and your workplace. Read english newswpapers and also some good english book. Whenever you come across a new word do use a dictionary to know it's meaning. You feel empty minded because you fall short of words. Don't feel shy, speak English on a regular basis and you'll see the confidence building up in you.
