Hi Kunduru. You have asked a very broad question and there can not be a good recommendation unless an expert spends some time with you; analyzing your strengths and weakness through the mock tests and then suggesting you the game plan. One month is enough to get a good score provided you utilize the time very efficiently and prepare selectively from right materials. You should not worry about Vocab at this point of time, instead focus on understanding GRE designer's psychology ( how they set traps) and work on the basics by practicing the materials suitable for you.

Benita, there are many benefits, some of them already mentioned above. Why do you want to give TOEFL? Do you want to student in USA? if yes, then you need a good score on either TOEFL or IELTS to think of getting in a university. Earlier, TOEFL was accepted by only USA universities and IELTS by only Canadian or English, but these days either of the scores are required. So I suggest you to give mock of both the tests and start preparing for the one you feel more comfortable with. I personally find speaking section of IELTS easier than that of TOEFL as in TOEFL you speak to a computer and 60/90 sec clock puts pressure, however in IELTS you speak with a human and there is much less time pressure. I consider writing section of TOEFL easier because I don't enjoy writing from a pen/pencil and unlike TOEFL, in IELTS you need to write by hand. Same way there are numerous ways to compare. Chose the one that matches your strengths best.

Shashanth, great that you have this question. Congratulations ! this is the first step towards learning english. Knowing that you need to improve and then having the curiosity and energy to bring the change. Secondly, there is no one way to learn the language and Different people learn differently. If you are in an environment where most or even some people communicate english then becoming friends with them could be a strategy. Yes, they may laugh at you or may mimic you sometimes but that is a part of learning. Better be laughed at now then later in a bigger audience. Thirdly, watch english movies and observe how and what they speak, here learning will be fun and both conscious and subconscious. Forth, join an english speaking institute, and tell the instructor to point out your three most frequent mistakes ( not more than three otherwise you will not be able to implement any), and once those three fade, ask me to point out three more. You may not be able to observe your progress same as we don't see much change in us when we see mirror daily, but over time these methods would be most impactful. Some other good ideas are already mentioned in the comments :-) at the end I would say go to a book store and choce some of the books that you interesting, reading the topics you are geneuinly interested in would give you 10 times better results that forcing yourself to read newspaper ( if that doesn't interest you much). If you dont find anything intersteing to read, just buy oNe of the chetan bhagat novels and start reading :-)

Secondly and more importantly, first prepare for IELTS, give your best shot, and once you have a score in hand, look of right fit universities. Even if you get the list you are looking for, it won't be of any relevance till you know where you stand. My advice is, aim for the highest score, give your 100% and then check with the universities or counsellors or both, because the applicant's profile matters a lot. A strong profile with low score has better chances to be accepted to a good college vs a weak profile with high score, and nothing like a strong profile with a good score which I believe you would be after the exam :-)
