To query the value the pointer could be used. Now a pointer which basically is a variable contains the address of other variable. Pointers can also contain addresses of other pointer variables and so on. This starts the confusion. Keep the basic clear. A pointer is a variable that contains the address of other variable in memory. So for instance, if my friend knows my address, you could meet him and ask him to bring you to my home. Simple. :-) But for that you need to know my friend. Here my friend is called the pointer variable. read less
