"I am learning Hindustani shatriya sangeet from ‘My Guru’ Sumithra Ma’am from 1 and 1/2 year. She has been true inspiration. There are many qualities in her when we talk about her teaching. So I want to write those in points and the benefit i am getting from that 1. Her Friend like attitude- you can ask absolutely anything and without any hesitation and you will get proper Answer. And there is no restrictions on number of time you ask. She gives her best and make sure that you understand the concept. 2.Singing and Concept both are Important- Her approach undoubtedly improves our singing. But she also keeps repeating the concepts. Either explaining them or Asking Questions based on that. 3.You will do it- Her confidence in each student is amazing. She says that never TRY, You should say I will do it. and Magic happens. 4.Extremely Interesting and Interactive- the teaching skill with lots of patience makes the class interesting and she keeps it interactive for everyone. 5.Encouragement for knowledge- She is a true believer of Knowledge, let it be from other sources. She encourages for YouTube learning or any other source is welcome. She want use to learn, the only objective she has in mind. 6.Alankar practice and Raga exercises- Both happens in class with proper balance. 7. Structured Learning- She of course prepares us for exam portions step by step. And other than that many more things which you wouldn’t learn in any other class. Keep learning! "

"I have been learning Hindustani Classical Music for about a year now under the guidance of Sumitra Mam. Ever since I met her, I have been truly inspired by Mamâ??s passion for music and her energy she brings in to the class.Her unbelievable ability to gauge a student for their true potential and talent is incredible. What made me amazed most is her Focus, patience and perseverance with her students of all stages of their skill to bring the best out of them. The approach of making a novice student understand the nuances of Raag and Taal is unique where Mam takes examples of Old classics so that every student also can relate to it. I have seen the whole class bonding with her in a spiritual way during the divine sessions of my musical journey in every class. I canâ??t thank Mam enough for enlightening me with her teaching of Hindustani vocal lessons and I would want to continue my Hindustani music journey with her as long as possible. I would strongly recommend to anyone who aspires to learn Hindustani music and also to the ones who is already learning to horn their skill."
