"I am more than honored to recommend Mr. Rao R Sharath to all the students and parents. Philosophy in music subject was no less than a strong ‘sleeping pill’ to me until I heard from fellow friends of mine who told me how enjoyable his theory classes were, but I never had the chance to be in his class. It was then that I found out how great a teacher he really is and how a dead subject can become most interesting and lively thing of your life. What I most admire about Sharath is his caring and concern attitude. His flexibility and availability are tremendous as he answers all his student’s study related phone calls/sms/e-mails instantly. His lectures are highly organized, and the level of attention he gives to his students is unsurpassed. He is a perfect blend of strictness and kindness. He is capable of recognizing a student's potential as well as weaknesses, apart from being very dedicated and sincere. It is tough to mention all of his amazing qualities here and the ones mentioned above only scratch the surface. In my opinion, he deserves the “Best Music Teacher” Award of ALL TIME. Trust me, all his students will agree to my last line."

"I am a student of Rao R Sharath from the past 4 years and he has been my seventh teacher, out of all the teachers I have learnt from I consider him to be the best. After joining his classes my voice quality and singing capability has improved.Sir has acheived many awards in this field and has a very different style of teaching and he makes sure that every song is learnt perfectly.Individual attention is given to each student and he is friendly and always ready to clarify any querys that arises in the songs learnt. He is very dedicated to the field of music due to which many of his students have also been recognised along with him. I would recommend him to any student of any age."

"I know Sharath from close to an year or so. He was in touch with my dad John a Christian Fraternity and both of them used to discuss so much about their respective holy books. Initially i somehow never could rise my arms with Sharath as i thought he was biased and seemed to be a frog in a well. I was perusing my final year M.A is philosophy and there was a subject which dealt with Hinduism. To my surprise there was not even a mention of so called " Tatva Vaada" or " Maaya vaada" and it was called by the usual names Dvita and Advita. This is when i wanted to literally argue with Sharath :P. We had several discussions but gradually i understood that he a moving encyclopedia. thousand of verses were in his finger tips. What fascinated me the most was the junction when he brought about the similarities in Bhagavatgeetha, Bible and Quran. Its only later to this discussion that i understood most of the verses mentioned in the Bible. I was also under the misconception that many things mentioned in the holy books were spurious. My whole illusion of telling things were illusive was cut into bits and pieces by his scholarly approach. I have now a prime realization that there are too many things that i don't know. Just because i don't know i can't conclude that something does not exist. Secondly logic is an outcome of everyone's belief and one who has experienced needs no logic. Fools are those who laugh at great men and their works for there can be nothing greater than the pelagic hell they are living in ! The most interesting thing for you guys is that i am now converted to a Hindu. I study the Madhwa philosophy. I am proud to tell you that Sharath is my guide, friend and god father. I wish to have a son like him :) God bless you dear friend :) Long Live master !!!! "

""Hi..Sharath sir taught me Senior Vocal classes in my first year PUC. Believe it or not, Raga Alapana has always been a difficult subject for me, but that changed the first day I stepped foot in his class. The way he taught came with such ease and it made me want to keep listening to his teaching. He did such a great and thorough job explaining his lesson plans it made everything instantly click for me. Sharath sir was a phenomenal teacher and for that, and in fact he had a positive impact on me. It’s not very often, if ever, that I come across dedicated teachers like him anymore. To be honest, words can’t express how much I respect him for his everyday kind hearted attitude towards me. I can’t imagine how difficult it can be dealing with certain students and what not, but he always stayed poised and respectful to each and everyone of us. He always taught with a passion and always made sure we understood what was going on. Thank you Sharath sir for ur outstanding teaching skills and because of you i got distinction for my Senior Exams. You are always the best... =)"

"I am an author and have compiled more than 10 books on carnatic music. I know Rao Sharath as a Scholar in Music and Philosophy.Sharath is a very good instructor when it comes to explaining the basic concepts in Music. He has a very good knowledge of what he teaches, his lectures are very well planned and organized, and above all he knows how to teach! He simplifies what initially seems to be a complicated concept, teaching students as to how they could remember and understand them, such that they are able to not only grasp the material but also teach it to others in the future. He also has been a great help to me in my research work on Sangeeth Samrajya a grantha by Venkatamakhi, He is a great friend and colleague in and out of the class and discussion rooms, and seems to be very knowledgeable - both in the area of his expertise and philosophy. I wholeheartedly recommend Sharath and wish him the very best of luck for all of his future endeavors!"

"I am a student of Sri Sharath not in the field of music but Philosophy. I met him through our common friend Karthik and was happy to hear about him and his achievements in music. I also heard he was mastering the other side of the world called Philosophy. I was an Atheist initially and it hardly took him close to three sessions to convert me into an Agnostic. This is when i had so many wrong assumptions and beliefs. I could later understand one thing that Science is just a subset of Vedic science and hence the former does not define everything about the latter. Even if they were constituted as independent entities then trying to see philosophy through science is a wrong symbol. Being a fellow research in Atomic Physics i was stunned by the fact that the concept of atoms and molecules were described way before they were discovered by science. The concept of energy which our quantum physics deals with was mentioned way back but its just that we need eyes to realize and recognize them. Being a person exposed to adverse ends of life i have realized that there is a particular design in the creation and its astrospects. I am thankful to Karthik to have introduced me to him else which i would not have realized that i was floating in the pool of darkness. Hare Srinivasa !!! "

""I must honestly say that I started a bit late as a student of music, which I always wanted to do from childhood.Nevertheless , I don't want to dwell into the aphorisms of "There is no age for learning music...etc..etc...". Having said that, with eager and zeal to learn Keyboard, I joined Sharath Sir's classes.Unpretentious and very unassuming that he comes forth,Sharath Sir is one the best students of music I have seen. Why I say this is "a great teacher is at first a very good student" :) .His innovative way of blending Indian classical music and Western music really paves the way to make you more earnest towards composing your own music. With in a span of 8 to 10 months,I did learn a lot from him. Of course, he starts from the basics and goes into advanced levels once you are comfortable with the former. I strongly recommend his classes if you have a passion for music and composing/tuning. And last but not the least, I would say " Start Early and Start Right" and unquestionably that Mr.Right is Sharath Sir :)""

"I am doing my MA in Carnatic music from Anna University in Chennai. I must admit one thing about Sharath, he has been such a kind hearted and a humble person helping me understand what i did not know. I believe that is the 1st step to success that you should know that you don't know and only then you can learn. I was a kind of an egoistic guy with an attitude that there was nothing more to learn. Our first encounter on skype was so brilliant that i thought i have a guy who knows a little less than me, the second meet was like i thought this guy knows as much as me and don't ask me the third and fourth i was just grounded. The simplicity in which he brings about complexities is something brilliant !!! His RCA( Root Cause Analysis) made me realize that my whole foundation was so weak and i lacked basics. Its very rare that we find musician's of this caliber at this age. I wish him all the best for all his endeavours."

"I am a student of Sharadha sangeetha shala from the last 6 years. I initially learnt from Pushpa Maam and now from Sharath sir. I completed my junior and now getting ready to take up my senior exams in vocal music. I also learn Keyboard from him. His teaching methods are unconventional and has helped me so much to gain knowledge that I now compose music for my school day programs and i can tune songs by listening to it. He has also been a great inspiration to me by teaching me Madwa Philosophy. His in-depth knowledge and versatility of studying other holy books makes it easier for him to value the value more than anything else. He is my Manasika guru and I request him to keep me as his student till the end."

"I previously wrote a review about Sharath and now here i am to recommend him. Sharath has been learning from me since 2004. In the last 8 years we have shared so much fun, emotion, knowledge etc. I was overwhelmed by his enthusiasm to collect my concerts and convert them from tape to mp3 format. The justice he made learning Bharatiyar compositions was one of his notable achievements. In 2010 after learning Samskrit we had some good time analyzing kritis and the introspects of Shaitya and its background. The concept of seeing a kriti as the composer did fascinated me and we have spent nothing less than 500 hrs discussing about it. He is not only philosophical but also practical and knows how to convey a point and to signify its importance. Being a Madwa follower he never denied other holy books and studied them to have a clear perception of which one is gold and bronze. I always tease him telling him you sing like Balamurali sir and hence you are Abhinava Balamurali :). We share a relationship which is lower compared to a student - guru and higher than a father - son. I pray the all mighty to bestow upon him health, wealth, success. My best wishes with you!!!"

"I know sharath from the last 10 years and he's always been a fascinating person. I was initially very excited to accompany him as he used to sing a lot like Rajkumar Bharathi sir. Later years after a few concerts we started sharing information and stuff on philosophy and had a great time. I have been a keen observer on Sharath's dedication and commitment with his classes and he never skips any class any time. His method of orientation is pretty different when compared to the usual and normal methods followed by teachers. His brilliance allows him to get sangatis like quick flashes where you thought you understood but you didn't. Its like seeing a flash of light you saw but you did not see it :). I am happy to be associated with him and i look for a healthy relationship in the years to come. "
