In the beginning, everything is not easy; however, there is a certain level that you need to go through. How to hold your pick, how to move your writs and how to strum. If you skip this basic level, you will struggle to strum. So start with the basic level which you can easily play and then go to the harder next step, in this way you can improve your strumming. I hope this helps.
