What was the impact of division of Germany on international politics?

It intensified cold war. Moreover due to division there was a huge difference betweenwest Germany and east Germany .west Germany got more growth than east Germany.itvwas due to system of communism.but east Germany got capitalist system.there may be shortcomings of captilistic society ..but this paid of for west Germany.another impact on Germany was that it faced shock due to world s powers because people did not want division.bcz if that have been would so then they wouldn't have been united.germany at time of division was already under huge debt due to first war s 11.11.1918 treaty.
