Healthy living requires making thoughtful choices in our everyday lives. In order to live a healthy life, we need to develop healthy habits whether be it making food choices or others. Our hectic lifestyle has made nearly impossible to live a healthy life. However, with careful considerations and healthy choices we can live a healthy life. Here are few useful tips: useful tips for a healthy life Eat healthy Did you know? Eating a healthy diet has direct impact on your overall health and mood. Research found that eating a healthy balanced diet improves your energy, stabilizes mood swings and increase the sense of well-being. Eat a diet rich in fibers, proteins, wholesome grains, fruits & vegetables and cut down on carb foods. The more you savor healthy foods, the more you would be able to manage your weight, feel happier and less stressed. Eating healthy starts from home, try to cook more at home and have complete control on what you feed yourself. Fitness exercises Whether you want to exercise at home or workout at gym, you must ensure to spend at least 30 min every day on your fitness regime. Make it a point to work out regularly to stay fit and healthy and even when you cannot make separate time for exercises, ensure you have some sort of physical activity e.g. walking up a distance to your office, instead of taking the lift climb up the stairs, play with your pets or kids. Because lack of exercises make us weak and susceptible to a number of health ailments. And if you are unable to maintain a regular exercise regime, hire a personal trainer and stay in shape. Meditation A healthy living starts with a calm mind. How you can calm the mind? The answer is meditation. Start your day with meditation, whether you choose to meditate at home, in your garden, or terrace, the only thing to ensure is to choose a quiet place. Doing meditation has a number of benefits such as reduces blood pressure, anxiety, works as mood enhancer, controls weight and gives you peace of mind. So make meditation one of your must-do activities every single day. Drink plenty of water Water is essential for a healthy body. Drink at least eight glasses of water every day to provide your body with the necessary fluids. Take no fluid as a substitute of water e.g. don't drink sugar rich energy drinks or bottled juices instead of water. If you opt for natural juices (sugar-free) then it’s alright. Drinking water keeps your body cool and flushes out toxic. Say ‘No’ to alcohol and smoking In order to lead a healthy life, you need to quit smoking and drinking alcohol. Drinking alcohol regularly causes a number of negative health effects - liver cirrhosis, pancreas & stomach infection, heart disease and hypertension. It also have adverse effect on brain and thinking capacity which impacts professional performance. Smoking have equally adverse health effects, it damages the liver and weakens the heart. If you are willing to live a healthy life, stay away from cigarettes and drinking alcohol.
