Answered on 15 Feb Learn Language/Tamil Language
Aramaic and Tamil are both ancient languages, but they belong to different language families—Aramaic is a Semitic language, while Tamil is a Dravidian language.
Both languages have a long literary history, with Aramaic being used in the Middle East for over 3,000 years and Tamil having an unbroken literary tradition for over 2,000 years.
Some scholars suggest possible ancient trade and cultural exchanges between the Middle East and South India, which may have led to minor linguistic influences.
The presence of Aramaic-speaking Christian communities in South India, such as the Syriac Christians of Kerala, has contributed to some religious and cultural connections between the two languages.
Despite these historical interactions, Tamil and Aramaic have fundamentally different grammar, vocabulary, and linguistic structures.
