Abacus is limited. Vedic maths is unlimited. Abacus is more about addition subtraction. Whereas Vedic maths trains you in everything like addition subtraction, multiplication division, squares, square root, cube root..so on.. Vedic mathematics can be taught to the kid as small as 8 yrs old..

Both the systems improve mental ability and accuracy of calculations. Abacus learning requires basic knowledge of number writing. So, starting age is 4 years. Since it requires minimum 2 years to complete the entire course, we recommend students up to 7th standard to start learning Abacus.

VedicMathematis : I prefer students above 3rd standard. Only reason being: It would be better if they know division concept.

There's absolutely no upper age limit to start learning Vedic maths...

Abacus. We usually start from children of 10 years and above. Secondly, there is nothing like 'an ideal age' to learn Vedic Maths.

Abacus is suitable for kids between 5 years to 10 years. They need to know to write numbers 1 to 10. Vedic mathematics is ideal for 4th standard and above students. They should know the concept of multiplication and division.

How can you teach 7-8 year old kid to learn/memorize tables. Since kids these days are taught logic of addition and arriving at the multiplication result, they are reluctant to memorize the tables.
you do not need to make them memorise tables, instead help them understand the logic behind the numbers, table learning will happen automatically.
