Setting up a home tutoring business is time consuming but does have pluses. You will need to buy a few things, and for your first few jobs it is best to stick to nieces/nephews/young siblings or cousins. They can give you feedback. Here are some ways to get started. 1.Buy the following things: as many pencils as you like(more than 10), as many pens as you like (more than 10), 20 - 30 exercise books, a computer if you don't already have one, a large blackboard or if stretching the budget, a whiteboard, plenty of books including at least 3 horrible histories, 3 horrible sciences, 3 murderous maths, and a couple of revision books with at least 1 English and one maths book. 2.Phone any relatives with children and offer to do a trial period of tutoring for a very low fee (a couple of dollars or nothing, just for the beta period). Tell them that you will do as many as 5 lessons per child per week lasting for up to 2 hours a pop. Remember, the child will have probably just been to school and will want a little bit of time to themselves! Say that your prices will be slashed on Sundays but doubled on Saturdays. 3.Set up a room to be your class room. Put out a desk per student or per 2 students with a chair each. Push the blackboard to the front with your chalk and write 'Hello, I am your new tutor. I am called (insert what you want them to call you)'. Make sure that you have put a pen, a pencil and an exercise book in each child's place with the subject written on the front along with their name (eg Sue Smith, English) 4.Welcome each child and take a register. Tell the children to say here when you call their names. 5.Carefully explain what they will be doing for the lesson. You can usually find great resource sheets on the internet. (search on google for primary/secondary school activity sheets) 6.If a child misbehaves make a note of their name and put them on a chair in the corner facing the wall for a few minutes. When their parents arrive tell them that their child acted up but you dealt with it. 7.Give the children a 5 or 10 minute break to have a snack and a drink. Provide these for an extra cost to the parents or tell them to bring their own snack. 8.For homework give them an activity sheet from a website (see instruction 5) and explain clearly what to do. Tell them that they will get some smarties from a big jar (make a big jar of smarties) if they hand it in by a certain date. 9.At the end of the month, or if a child improves, make them a certificate with their name on saying, 'Well done, you have gotten better at (insert subject) (insert name)!!!' read less

Solve : x + y = 18; y + z = 12; z + x = 16
Let x+y=18---(1), y+z=12---(2),z+x=16---(3) Solving (2)-(3) we get y+z-z-x=12-16 y-x=-4--(4) Solving (4)+(5) we get x+y+y-x=18-4 2y=14 y=14/2=7 Substitute y value in (1) x+7=18 x=18-7=11 Substitute x value in (3) z+11=16 z=16-11=5 x=11, y=7, z=5
