The terms “dumb money” and “smart money” should not offend us. These terms are financial media creations only to differentiate between groups of investors.
Money invested by big institutional investors is called “smart money.”
These investors along with teams of experienced investment analysts, evaluate the market dynamics better than retail players. They make better informed investment decisions.
Those decisions may turn out to be bad trades too. But those decisions are more educated choices.
An average investor/trader generally does not deploy a method in trading/investing.
Hence, most of the times, end on loosing side.
