Nouns
Everything around us has a name. People, places, animals and things have names. Look around you and all that you see has a name.
Common or general names of people, places, animals and things are called common nouns. These nouns do not begin with a capital letter.
Examples: boy, girl, city, country, dog, cat, table, chair, building, river, mountain
Proper or specific names of people, places, animals and things are called proper nouns. A Proper noun always begins with a capital letter.
Examples: James, Diana, Delhi, India, Tommy, Tinku, Unity Building, River Ganga, Mt. Everest
