How to build up the confidence of speaking in English ?

Mr. Anil Mishra

Dear Friends,

Very few students can study in posh convent schools and learn accented English. Most of the Indian youth have studied English as a 2nd Langauge and that too not very seriously as our daily environment did not give the due importance to English. We somehow got the working knowledge of English and cleared our school and college Exams only to realise later that fluency in the English Language is of paramount importance in any and every professional sphere. If one wants to gain expertise in his/her field, make presentations, convince clients, impress Bosses and associates, a full command of spoken English is necessary.

Confidence in the English Language comes with knowledge and practice. For knowledge along with hard work on the part of the student, a proper direction to the hard work and regular feedback from the teacher is significant. Even after gaining knowledge of the language, grammar, vocabulary and proper sentence formations, speaking in front of 10 people remains a challenge and drives even the talented students to sweaty dizziness. It can be overcome with repetition and repetition and again repitition with the support of the teacher. After a short, while one starts seeing the progress in oneself and also starts realising the approach of others towards them, be it academic atmosphere or workplace or friend circle. A person with good language and communications skill is always appreciated by people around and thereby lands up better opportunities as compared to people who lack such soft skills.

However, there is no shortcut to Hard work of Learning and Practising.
