0Friends, while making a presentation or when giving a speech in English there are some very important basic points we need to understand as well as implement.
1. TEXT - This is the content matter of the speech. It should have the right sentence formation as well as appropriate vocabulary to provide a sensational impact to the speech. This means that the grammar and vocabulary must be 100% perfect.
2. DELIVERY - The delivery of speech is very very important and should have the following.
a. Volume - the loudness of the voice.
b. Tone - the quality of the voice eg: soft, gentle, harsh.
c. Pauses - Right pauses need to be made at right places. Good understanding of the coma, full stop, and pause breaks wherever necessary can make the impact more powerful.
d. Punches - means the extra "emphasis" on the "key words" of the sentence, highlighting the importance related to it. They give a solid impact to the sentence.
3. FLUENCY - While delivering the speech, it should come out with a fine smoothness. There should be no stuttering, repetitions, or "unwanted sounds" made while speaking a sentence.
4. TEXTURE - The sentence must express the "mood" of the speaker and must contain the emotional content associated with the speech.
5. MODULATION - Monotonous voices are boring to hear. However, when the speech is modulated appropriately incorporating all of the above, with appropriate volume, keeping the tone soft and sweet all along, it makes the speech lovable to be heard and one would not mind listening to it for a good length of time.
Friends all of this is definitely POSSIBLE. But one should begin the forward steps and keep going on and on until they reach that milestone some day, where they would have mastered all of the above. There is no short cut to success and we all know that don't we?
How long will it take Sir?... Hmm.. the answer to it is determined by your passion, by your progress made, and by continuously PRACTICING with people who speak English. It is like any other skill that you acquire. Patience and perseverance always pays rich dividends in the end.
I would only say, have a strong mindset, be dedicated, disciplined, and determined to learn it. A good personal trainer is a MUST though one can find lots of videos and materials on English Speaking on the internet. Without a "Guru (teacher)", however, one cannot progress very far.
