How does Food security is affected during a natural calamity?

Food security includes 3 dimensions, a) Availability b) Accessibility c) Affordability. Natural calamities like droughts and floods leads to shortage of food production as they effect the crops. Transportation becomes a major hurdle effecting the distribution and supply of food. Shortage of food and it's supply tesulre in hike in prices due to increased demand of food. Natural calamities in wide spread areas over long time leads to famine. We need to import the food from other countries .Those unable to afford the costly food suffer from starvation and malnutrition which affects the overall health and wellness which further effects his work. This results in less economic slowdown of the country.

Inorder to ensure food security, the food grains should be stored in a proper way without damage and ensure that the food is accessible and affordable to people without any leakages ( due to middlemen).

Food security & Inflation & Reflation ( low prices) , economic GDP of a country is closely linked & inter linkages to other sectors like industry , Trade , & commerce &overall health of banking & even finance are interlinked , decides the future growth of today Dynamic Global Indian Economy ..& fate of the Government in power.. in normal situation .. in condion of calamity these sectors crescendo effects may topple governments too..it will take 10years or more to stabilise from manmade calamity like demonetisation & the GST Disaster as well stron war /famine or pestilence death in any Economy developed & fast growing ones like India ..
