In SAP ABAP, the "TYPE" and "LIKE" keywords serve different purposes when defining variables. When you use "TYPE," you are specifying a predefined data type directly, like declaring an integer or character. On the other hand, "LIKE" is used to assign the data type and length of an existing data object to a new variable. So, "TYPE" is for explicitly defining a data type, while "LIKE" is for inheriting the data type from an existing object. This distinction helps in efficiently managing data types and reusing existing structures in your ABAP programs.
