I consider students as more important than teachers. My experience tells me that a class 12 student needs to be comfortable interacting with his/her teacher. The teacher must know the student personally, family background, his daily habits, likes and dislikes, etc. At such age, a student expects the the teacher to be friendly and inspiring. What a student likes most at this age is to be successful and be valued as a bright prospect. No student likes to be abused in the class. However, they love a strict and disciplined teacher who commands expertise on the subject he teaches. Needless to say, some students tend to be unmindful and lazy in the class. Such students need special attention. I have learnt to make the class interesting by involving each student to listen prayerfully. Also, what a student likes at such age is examples that suffices his learning. Focussing on practice and doubt clearance sessions are a must to get the best out of such learners. Asking these students on the objective of the class makes them engrossed in the session. Simultaneously they develop the attitude of fearlessness in asking questions. My students are like God to me because they provide me an opportunity to worship my work.
