The Reserve Bank of India is a central banking institution which controls the Indian Rupee and monetary policies. It is a custodian of foreign exchange and gold. This bank acts as an agent and adviser to the government of India. It helps in maintaining the foreign value of the Indian Rupee and acts as a banker to other banks in India. Eligibility Criteria:
Age: Between 18 and 28 years.
However there is age relaxation for candidates belonging to reserved categories:
SC/ST – 5 years (i.e. up to 33 years)
OBC – 3 years (i.e. up to 31 years)
Candidates seeking age relaxation are required to submit copies of necessary certificate(s) at the time of interview. Official notification of the exam can be found here.
Educational Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50 percent marks (Pass marks sufficient for SC/ST/PWD candidates) and basic knowledge of word processing in computer.
2. A candidate belonging to Ex-servicemen category should either be a graduate from a recognized University or should have passed the matriculation or equivalent examination of the Armed Forces and rendered at least 15 years of defence service.
3. Candidates applying for post in a particular state should be proficient in the language of the state i.e. know to read, write, speak and understand the local language
How to apply?
Candidates can apply online for the exam here. Before applying, candidates should ensure that they fulfill the eligibility criteria for the post. Candidates can apply online through Bank’s website www.rbi.org.in. Candidates should have valid personal email ID which should be kept active till the declaration of results of the recruitment process. All future communications regarding admit card/call letter/interview etc. will be made through this email ID. In the application form, candidates must fill all the mandatory fields, post which candidates are required to upload the soft copy of their photographs and signatures in the recommended sizes. The duly filled application form can be submitted upon clicking the SUBMIT button. A provisional registration number and password will be provided as an acknowledgement to the submission.
Candidates are provided with two modes of payment for the application form: Offline mode and Online mode.
Offline mode of payment:
Candidate should take a printout of the system generated fee payment challan. Fee can be paid in any one of these bank branches – Bank of Baroda, Bank of India, Bank of Maharashtra, Central Bank of India, Indian Overseas Bank, Punjab National Bank, and United Bank of India. Candidates will receive Registration confirmation SMS/e-mail after two working days from the date of fees payment.
Online mode of payment:
Here, the application form is integrated with the payment gateway. The payment can be made by using Master/Visa Debit or Credit cards or through Internet Banking. On successful completion of the transaction, an e-receipt will be generated which the candidates are required to print for future reference.
Fees:
SC/ST/PWD/EXS (Intimation Charges): Rs. 50
OBC/General Candidates (Examination Fee + Intimation Charges): Rs. 450
