1) Alkali metals are soft compare than alkaline earth metals that is hard in nature.
2) Alkali metals have low melting point because it is soft in nature.While, alkaline earth metals have high melting point.
3)Alkali metals has a single electron in its outermost shell.While, alkaline earth metals has two electrons.
4)Alkali metals can form strong bases more rapidly than Alkaline earth metals.
