Here're few essential ways which can improve your child's English:

1. Make him read books every day ( for children, comic books or short stories). 
2. Try using English words while talking to him. It will help him learn new words.
3. Develop a habit of talking with him in English. It'll help him gain confidence.
4. Gift him a dictionary and ask him to learn at least five new words daily. It will help him improve his vocabulary. 
5. Encourage him to write more. Writing in English also improves English. Ask him to write a page each day on any topic, for example - about his day. 
6. Ask him to participate in speaking opportunities like debates, speech etc.

(So, basically, there're four keys to good English - reading, writing, listening and speaking in English)

Kids tend to do whatever they enjoy the most. To make him patiently focus and studies and good works, you can do the following: 

1. Initially, keep his study timeless, for example, half an hour, and then gradually increase it to 45 minutes and then 1 hour. Likewise, he'll not be burdened. And will gain the habit of studying or doing anything patiently. 
2. Give him small incentives, for like if he'll complete one chapter, you'll buy him his favourite chocolate or his favourite toy. He'll be patient to earn his favourite things.
3. When needed, you must also scold him for keeping him on track.
