"Why should we add Do/Does/Did before not" ? (To make negative sentence in Simple Presesnt/Past Tense)

Hello Linguistic, 'Do' is used as an auxiliary with the simple present tense. Did is used with simple past tense. Do is primarily used to form the negative of main verbs by adding 'do' + 'not' in its infinitive form.
