Indian music is influenced by Hindu Mythology according to which Lord Brahma created four Vedas: Rigveda, Samveda, Yajurveda, Atharvaveda. In which, Samveda is the Veda of music. Lord Brahma passed the knowledge to Lord Shiva who passed it to Goddess Saraswati, the Devi of knowledge and learning.

Each raag has its own effect on surroundings and on the body and mind of the singer. Mainly it impacts brain positively. It has calming effect on mind. It is so because it is created by spiritual powers.
