This has allowed me to refine my own teaching methodologies and adapt to the unique needs of every learner. Foundation and Early Experiences: My teaching career in Spoken English began in the early stages of my career when I was teaching in schools in India. Initially, the focus was on helping students improve their conversational abilities and fluency in English. As English is an essential skill in both academic and professional settings, I found that many students struggled with expressing themselves confidently and clearly in spoken English, despite having a good grasp of grammar and vocabulary. I started by identifying key areas that students found difficult, such as pronunciation, intonation, and conversational fluency. To address these challenges, I employed techniques such as interactive speaking activities, role-playing, group discussions, and debates.
