Manual mode is one of the biggest limitation of digital camera (P&S).

normal digital cam ? u mean point and shoot cams ? they just allow u to take pics of different situations..they can be called as domestic cameras. Digital SLR are for for personal use. serious hobbyists and Professionals will go for DSLRs depending on the budget.
