Mix of these right settings in manual mode should enable you to quickly freeze the subject. Also, understand the lens capability, distance between subject and its background, foreground and background contrast to ensure subject's importance, Composition rules such as gold proportions, rule of thirds, etc., Photography is a work of art and this requires lot of visualisation and composition skills. Auto-focus is not always the right way of setting for your capture. Suggest you to explore manual focus, so that you get a control over the subject that you want to surely focus. So move around the subject, try all different angles. 4. Patience is a must. Be clam, wait for the right moments and click. A picture is a moment captured that tells the story. 5. Learn all the rules and break them so you improvise. This will make you different from others. You must need to know the relation of Shutter speed and Aperture for shooting basic photography, you may try to shoot in different lighting condition for it. i.e. - Day light, low light, Night, Mixed lighting etc. after that you have to concentrate on White Balancing the light.
