Aim Higher-The idea here is to put yourself into a corner, you need to always aim higher than what you actually want. This leads to pressure and stress, while people keep saying that pressure and stress are both bad and should not happen. I am telling you to endure a little bit of pressure and stress. This will lead to you work harder and excel in your goals while keeping a check on lethargy and laziness. Be Regular- This is perhaps the most important point in order to achieve success. There is a 3-D principle to success, Discipline-Dedication-Det ermination. Follow this approach by studying for at least 2 hours for boards everyday(I am assuming you are an individual who is only interested for boards). What to study- There are lots of books, guides and test series available in the market for the board exams. I advise you to keep away from every book apart from the standard prescribed books(By your school probably). You need to at least go through each of the books twice. How to study-The two readings should be done in different phases, the first phase consisting of you only reading through the book with a pencil in your hand underlining the keywords. The second phase should preferable be you recalling all the important facts and now using a highlighter to shorten the amount of keywords to be revised. How to practice- I would suggest that around 2 months before the exams, buy the previous 10 year question papers of each subject and practice them in an exam like environment during a proper duration of three hours for this test. This will ease you out and help you develop your exam temperament better. How to revise- This again is a very important part for you to score well, i would suggest going through most of the key words again and revising the answers to the questions you gave in the previous year papers will make you ready to finally face the real test. With this kind of an effort even for 6 months, i guarantee you more than 90% marks in the board exams. Cheers to your bright future, All the Best!

In this world of competition, nearly everyone studies the same books, don’t they? What makes the difference in ranks are the following factors- How much hard-work they have put in. What approach they followed during studying. Firstly, in physics, you have to make sure that your concepts are clear, and by that I mean crystal clear. For this purpose, I recommend HCV. Most of the AIIMS and IIT-JEE toppers refer to this book and I have too. However, if you are only preparing for NEET, this book may not be very beneficial. Let me tell you one thing, out of all the top 100 students in NEET, nearly 15–20 go to AIIMS Delhi finally, such is their level of preparation. So, if you are thinking of cracking NEET with such rank, why not think about AIIMS Delhi? For AIIMS, HCV is quite useful, since AIIMS asks really conceptual questions, not those one-liners(2–3) you find in NEET, though 1 or 2 are also present in AIIMS. Now, the procedure many follow is as follows: First study NCERTs, most of the questions in both NEET and AIIMS(90%) come from them. Then, refer to your coaching packages for the extra information which might be important OR, refer to your class room notes. Do questions from coaching packages, you won’t be able to do 10–20% of them, ask your teachers for help. This is natural, since that is the reason you have joined coaching, and teachers welcome this doubt-clearing approach from students. Revise. I can’t stress more on this facet. This is what separates you from the other aspirants. Before the exam, you should have revised the whole syllabus 4–5 times, or at least 3–4 times. Also, revision must take place while you are preparing, like when exams are coming in the coaching, and you should revise the topics at least once. Revision is the key to success, the more the better. Now, you would also have coaching. I have completely ignored this fact till now. Usually, coaching at Aakash is from 5 to 8. After coaching, you will be exhausted, since you also attend school. Then, I would recommend that you only revise whatever has been taught in the classes, with depth, and develop concepts. The earlier you do this, faster you will be able to learn. After doing this, if you have time, practice some questions from that topic which are given in coaching packages. In the weekends, do all the MCQs given in coaching, previous years questions, NCERT at your fingertips. Basically all the MCQs you can think of corresponding to the chapters you have completed. Also, remember, to get top 100 AIR, all your subjects should be equivalently good, so, please pay equal attention to P, C, and B. Never prioritise one above the other. Inorganic chem. is all about revising again and again and again. This is a huge topic, however, only NCERT is required for it. 100% of questions in NEET and AIIMS are usually asked from NCERT, so why look elsewhere? Also, in case, some outside question comes, you can rest assured that 95% of people won’t attempt that, so no worries. Organic is all about concepts, I would recommend S.N. Sanyal for it, that book is great, and very concise, about 150–200 pages. It explains beautifully how and why reactions happen the way they do, and the effect of reagents. Other than S.N. Sanyal, NCERT and your coaching packages, nothing is required. Please remember this, don’t ever, ever, try to memorise the reactions given in any of these books, except for the reactions with a name given in NCERT. The exams stress on the application part of organic chem., not the memorization part. For bio., NCERT will cover 90% of questions in both exams. For the rest, refer to your coaching notes and that will be enough. Trueman’s is also good, but a whole lot of information is given in it, which is not that important. For physics, NCERT first, then HCV, finally MCQs from whatever book you have is enough. Also, practice makes a man perfect. Remember, that if your concepts are clear, there is no question in the world which you can’t do. This approach is important for both NEET and AIIMS, since 3–4 questions are like that.
