Teaching Experience in detail in Spoken English classes
My experience in English spoken, especially in the field of teaching, has been a journey full of growth, self-discovery, and constant improvement. When I first began teaching, I quickly realized how crucial it was to have a strong command of spoken English, not just for communication but also to establish credibility and effectively deliver lessons. At the start, I faced challenges in expressing complex ideas in simple and fluent English, especially when explaining topics to students from diverse backgrounds. Sometimes, I would hesitate or overthink while speaking, worried about grammatical errors or pronunciation slips. However, the classroom environment taught me to overcome my fears and focus more on clear communication rather than perfection. Gradually, I started developing strategies to improve my spoken English. I became more conscious of my tone, pace, and body language during lectures, understanding that teaching is not just about speaking, but about engaging and inspiring students. I made it a habit to prepare my lessons thoroughly in English, practice aloud, and anticipate the kinds of questions students might ask so that I could respond confidently and fluently. As I gained more teaching experience, I began incorporating more interactive techniques such as open discussions, debates, role plays, and group activities where English was the primary medium of communication. These activities not only enhanced my students’ speaking abilities but also strengthened my own fluency as I facilitated and guided them through these tasks. Over time, I noticed a shift in my confidence. I could explain complex concepts with ease, switch between formal and informal tones as required, and handle spontaneous questions without losing the flow of conversation. One of the turning points in my journey was when I had to train new teachers and deliver workshops in English, in front of both experienced educators and fresh graduates. It was a challenge to present myself as both knowledgeable and approachable, but it taught me the importance of clarity, active listening, and adaptability in spoken English. I also began to mentor students who were struggling with spoken English, sharing techniques that had worked for me—such as thinking in English, using common phrases and idioms, and practicing daily conversations. Their progress inspired me further and reinforced the idea that spoken English, like any other skill, improves with dedication and practice. In addition, teaching helped me understand the cultural aspects of the language, how to use appropriate expressions, humor, and examples that resonate with different audiences. As I continued on this path, English became not just a tool for teaching but a bridge for building relationships, motivating learners, and creating a more dynamic classroom environment. Today, I feel confident delivering lectures, participating in academic discussions, and conducting seminars, all in English, and I believe this growth has played a key role in shaping me into the teacher I am today.
