M.A. final year student in History, a classical dancer and an avid reader with an impeccable taste in desserts. A storehouse of energy, confidence and zest with an experience of 3.5 years of tutoring kids, from toddlers to teenagers (nursery to class 8th). With my effective writing and communication skills, I am also someone who has exceptional observational and listening skills. I possess the ability to understand as to where the interests and capabilities of a student reside. With analytical expertise, workload and time management skills, I tend to engage students in a methodical and fun way. I try to ensure that the syllabus is completed within due time and that the child gets enough time for doubts clarification and revision. I give utmost importance to the conduction of weekly tests. I understand the importance of a disciplined and regular routine. I believe that education is about improving oneself and setting a standard and goal, in whichever field one sets foot. It is about imbibing in a child proper manners, morals and virtues, and about acknowledging the world beyond a set curriculum. Most of my academia deal with a lot of theoretical work, which includes dealing with a lot of research work, bundles of notes, scholarly articles and presenting a critical analysis of it, based on my understanding. It may seem to be a tremendous work, and even monotonous. But trust me when I say, I sail through this routine of monotony, smoothly. Which is what my approach with my students has always been. I try to make learning a fun exercise, by breaking down the toughest of concepts into the smaller bite-sized chunks, making it easier for students to understand. With the recent changes in the Indian education system, it has become even more crucial to understand the mind of the student and push the child in the right direction, where his/her interest lies. When it comes to toddlers, I deal with them with the utmost care, ensuring to engage the child in STEM activities, daily story sessions, games with a set level of difficulty, worksheets, and in fact, I try to go beyond my means and try to see what works out best with my little students. When it comes to teenage kids, I engage them more into interactive conversations about subjects and also try and promote macro trends and ideas (cause/effect, bias/perspective, etc). These various approaches help in promoting analytical thinking and makes the child mindful of the surroundings. I am not a nerd, but a versatile, creative and an organised 22-year old strong-headed woman, who appreciates hard work and consistency. Proficient in 3 languages- English, Hindi and Bengali, a sucker for hygiene, good manners, and intellectual and rational discussions. I can juggle excellently from a teacher to a friend, promoting the growth of the child, in a holistic manner. I wish to see all my students soar high and be the best version of themselves.
