Asked this before but can't find the link to it. So how many teachers employ caning as a punishment method? I have read both pros and cons to it. Curious about your take on it.

Caning is a an offensive and punishable act. Compared to older days a lot of people have stopped this terrible act. We cannot say this is completely stopped. It is not just teachers but a lot of parents do this. I believe it doesn't help. Each student is different, they have their own pace and own comfort levels and own ways of understanding learning and responding. They have their own dreams and desire which must be supported. When a child grows they are bound to do mistakes. It's the way the parents bring up their kids and a major role is played by the guru in making this child a better person. Canning them will simply not help and will have severe affects on physical and mental health. It makes the child either go into a shell of become extremely aggressive. It instills negative thoughts inside their heads. As adults we must raise our next generation in a broad minded way. Explaining to them the negative impacts of the situation will help them. You would have probably done the same thing when you were a kid and that's why you tend to react. Instead teach kids in advance what's right and wrong. Parents must sit with their children Atleast once a day and speak things out even if it's just " how was your day at school? " teachers must do the same and give students personal attention. It may be difficult but not impossible and in the long run will help the child!
