In the previous chapter, you studied squares and square roots in detail. In NCERT Solutions for Class 8, Chapter 7, you’ll study about cubes and cube roots. A ‘Cube’ is often used in geometry. It is a solid figure having all equal sides. Now, cube number is a number which is a product of the same three numbers. In other words, when a number is multiplied by itself two times, we get the cube of that number. A cube root is the inverse of the cube. The cube root of a number ‘n’ is a number when multiplied thrice, gives the number ‘n’. Contrary to a square root, the cube of a number can be a real number which can be positive, negative, or even zero.
