I had been to NPS Indiranagar for my son's admission to mont-1 today. I met a parent who got a call for LKG and a meeting with parents on monday.

Hi Mani,
Could you pls tell me, Is your son comes under Sibling/Alumni quota or you staying <1km.. I am just trying to understand the selection criteria.

Is MONT1 the entry level in NPS? Does this mean for Class 1 your son will be above 6yrs? Is that the age criteria?

You are welcome to try in NpS next year, and welcome to stay close by. But I wanted to set some REAL expectations. Alumni/sibling/< 1km is all fine, it's pure bull shit given to avoid parents who don't get a call. I've known this school enough to comment such a thing. What matters is money, they prefer high earning parents who are both working. First criteria is high salary with both parents working. Location and age can vary than their <1 km criteria and their ideal age criteria. I know parents who stay 12km from the school have been called, their kids clearly over/under age have been called. Staying close to school wont guarantee seat, many who stay close didnt get through. Even for alumni and sibling whose parents earning more salary stand a chance. The chairman conveniently says I can't give seat for All siblings, obviously money plays a big role if not less. Unless you guys earn a dam don't keep much hopes. All this applies to general criteria. On failing to get a seat, they discourage meeting principal/chairman saying no time, only chairman decides and he is not available even when his car is parked outside. They Ballantly lie on your face. You will do better trying other schools than breaking head on this one. Just my sincere advise, pleAse go ahead and try but have real expectations to avoid disappointment later. «less

Friends.. pls let me know if any of you got a seat for MONT1 in general quoto (non sibling / non alumni/ not <1km) ... which would really help me in applying next yr LKG for my baby..

NPS selection is like a BLACK BOX. How selection happens nobody knows. They should put the names on notice board with the criteria on which someone is selected or rejected. So it seems my kid couldn't make it to NPS Indiranagar. Is there a way to find how many students from General Category (non-sibling, non Govt Employee) got admitted/called for Mont-1? I'm just curious to know about this. My daughter is admitted in another school in the neighbourhood. But since I'm new to Bangalore (btw, we stay in Indiranagar, around... more»
