In Delhi, there's a strict points systems, which I felt is more transparent. I agree that owing to the growing demand, schools have to come out with criteria, but I would have expected a better transparency and more importantly better communication from NPS regarding important dates, closure of admission etc.

Regarding the criteria (mom working getting reduced priority), tell me if the school feels that the kids of their lady teachers get lesser attention. This criteria, if it exists is literally hilarious. Myself and my sister are a by-product of working parents and we feel blessed for the parenting that we received. I'm sure most of you will echo this sentiment. «less

We have finished the admission process on Wednesday and paid the fees for whole year. We met the Chairman and discussion was extremely good. My daughter is going to Bethany Junior now and she will be joining KG1 in NPS. We shall look forward the first day at NPS

Regards selection criteria, here is a rough guess. Please note that this is through hearsay in various discussions:
- well heeled parents - education background, jobs, designation, salaries
- residence address - < 3 km to the school
- earlier schooling of kid (which earlier school/playschool)
- typically, a non working mother is preferred. Or, in case both parents are working - what is the support network at home.

Of course, if you fall under any known quota - siblings/teachers, that is an additional help.

I got the admission call for my daughter in LKG this year, mainly under the sibling quota. Few years ago, my son got the call (without any quota), and we guess it was according to some of the criteria above.

I stay is less than a Km from NPS koramangala
My wife is having masters in applied physics & i'm BE
my wife is non working
last 2 yrs i applied to NPS koramangala, HSR and Indira nagar no luck

Even I didn't get a call for my daughter seems we didn't make it too:( my daughter would be 3.6 as on June 13, I wonder if anyone knows if there is a chance if any one who got selected backs out?

NPS selection is indeed a blackbox. Probably many schools are. We are all wondering about this school in particular because this school is in great demand. I guess they have some kind of analysis techniques to pick kids of their choice to their school. They do not believe in interviewing parents or kids. NPS selection is indeed a blackbox. Probably many schools are. We are all wondering about this school in particular because this school is in great demand. I guess they have some kind of analysis techniques to pick kids of their choice to their school. They do not believe in interviewing parents or kids. From their vast experience they probably know whom to pick. For all you know, it could be just a draw of lots.
My son is from general quota. we live in 4km radius of the school. «less

We general category people keep on waiting for ever without any clues just hoping that someday we will get a call .. We r in chennai, moving to BLR in may-13. Applied for MONT1. Yday we heard from NPS that we are not selected and the seats for MONT1 got filled in the above mentioned (Sibling/ Alumni/ <1km/ NPS staff). If you could confirm, when we move to BLR we will find a house close to NPS and try for LKG next year.
