NPS website says Registration for admission will be accepted for the years 2012-2013,
2013-2014 and 2014-2015" .. what does 2013-2014 mean. My son will be 2.9 by June2012/ so for montessori what is the age limit

Thank you for all the inputs Sanjeev. This is very useful. We were really banking on this school for my twin children's admission. Now it keeps us thinking. As you have clearly mentioned, we can't get disappointed later.

Agree with Sriram and Sanjeev. Its strange an open communication from a reputed school mentions "... we urge the parents not to apply and get disappointed later....". I have couple points that trouble me. 1. If I was not 'priveldged' enough to go to a good school then why should my kid (who has no siblings! or none in the same school) not get fair opportunity... more»

Agree with Sriram and Sanjeev. Its strange an open communication from a reputed school mentions "... we urge the parents not to apply and get disappointed later....". I have couple points that trouble me.
1. If I was not 'priveldged' enough to go to a good school then why should my kid (who has no siblings! or none in the same school) not get fair opportunity to go that 'good school'.
2. Even if all this preference, then without the admission process commencement how come they already know that the sibling applications are twice the available seats.

This is like a family school. Outsiders are not allowed. If they are sure about the sibling crowed is more than available seats, they should not issue any application forms. Looks like this schools is only for US born kids. If they want to be fair on their part, they should give application form first to the siblings, US born kids, faculty kids ....... more»

In the second round, if they have any left out seats then issue application forms to public crowd and collect the money for it. «less

I called the school now and they told this year the process will be online and to keep checking the website everyday. Is that what others were told as well?

Yes, they said same to me, but after downloading application any one know the process and documents to submit and how is it also online or should go personal.

I and my wife visited NPS HSR this morning (we are trying for nursery for our daughter). They have put up a notice regarding 2012-13 admissions on a notice board near the main gate. Here is an extract (not verbatim) from the notice that we read in awe!
“This information is related to admission to NPS HSR for the next academic year and there are various preferences that the school adheres to -

First preference is given to the siblings of the students already studying at NPS HSR. Number of applications received from siblings is nearly twice the number of seats available.. (already!).. Second priority is given to kids of the school teachers and staff members.. Third priority to nationally mobile groups ... Fourth priority to the kinds of people returning back to India from abroad.. Finally, the general public..

Considering the limited facilities/ infrastructure in the school, we urge the parents not to apply and get disappointed later.. This year the applications will be distributed on-line which will be implemented shortly..”

Not sure if I need to say anything more about this! It’s quite clear and self explanatory..!! «less

I had been to the school on sat day. They have displayed the priority list on notice board.
1st priority wud be for siblings, staff, working in central board.....then last would be the kids who stay near by school.
It seems getting seat for normal kids not possible.

Having read these recent posts on preference criteria and online process etc leads me to think if this online admissions would really work (or is it really intended to keep the general category folks away!!; thinks my cynical side) 1. Having read these recent posts on preference criteria and online process etc leads me to think if this online admissions would really work (or is it really intended to keep the general category folks away!!; thinks my cynical side)
1. How difficult would it be for the school to post a small FAQ on their website on the admissions process for this year. I am sure school staff is not enthused by the numerous calls on the same topic, and they surely must have the resources to do so if they are really planning an "online" process.
2. How would the school know that the number of sibling quota is already double the limit if the online process has not begun yet?
3. They should atleast know the time frame for the process to start by now?

I suggest that we should all go together in the next two days rather than going alone and talk to the concerned authorities on what is going on and why is not transparent. what say? «less
