IdentityI've completed my B. Sc. in Home Science, specializing in Human Development in 2017 from Nirmala Niketan, College of Home Science, University of Mumbai. I've also completed my Post Graduate Diploma in Special Education (Multiple Disabilities: Physical and Neurological) (one-year full time program) in 2018. Through classroom inputs in theory and interventions and exposure in the field, I've been trained to plan, implement strategies for prevention and remediation in the areas of education, language and physical and functional management. Training was conducted through field visits, clinical observations, role plays and case discussions followed by 28 credit hours of field work.
This is my second year as a special educator in an inclusive IB school. I've been conducting regular intervention sessions of children who have different needs aged between 6-8 years. It includes evaluating the child's academic strengths and areas that need improvement, planning and setting goals, implementing through in class support and individual sessions and reevaluating the child's progress.
I'm passionate and enthusiastic about my work and I believe that it is my duty to spread awareness and sensitize the commoners towards special needs.
