By learning Bharatanatyam children enter a life of discipline, devotion and passion. Being a dance form that blends dance, music and theatre Bharatanatyam is an activity that instills poise and self-improvisation in the children. Let your children pursue Bharatanatyam and see the positive difference in them!
The children learn rhythm, musicality and build artistry while having fun, playing games, and being exposed to movement without the stress of getting it right immediately. In addition, they learn the basics of bharatanatyam through a series of exercises and body alignment techniques. General body awareness is emphasized with all the movements.
The Adult classes are set apart by their unique approach to training the classical dancer. They attempt to create a dancer that is physically strong and trains with awareness of muscular alignment, to prevent injury and increase efficiency of movement. The classes also teach theory based on the Natyashastra and constantly introduce Indian literature and poetry to educate the students about the context of Indian arts. These theory portions include in depth discussion and analysis on indian literature, texts, ideas, aesthetics, etc. These classes are largely for serious and committed adults and older students.
