Ritu,
You are a well-qualified person, having no experience, or a gap in career should not deter you from getting a good job. Instead, I would say it is never too difficult for any skilful person to secure a good job.
Suppose you do not have any experience, no problem. But if you have the right skills to get the employers' job done, then you will be hired, for this one should never stop learning.
First of all, I would say. Ask yourself what kind of job you are expecting then see if you have the skills required. Not necessary it should be an IT course. It could be anything from communication skills to the avid fond of number crunching - mathematical skills. Search for such specialized skills that you may require and then go for it.
On second thought, there is always a common requirement between all kinds of work profile. Like for example communication skill, excellent writing skills, people management skills which are of utmost importance in Human Resource Management. Then comes computing skills. Be whatever profession you are few IT skills will never turn you down.
It would be best if you learned softwares like Microsoft Excel, instead of having an advanced knowledge would be very advantageous. If you are a bit inclined towards or have little more interest in IT, then you must learn automation. If you are starting to learn to program, then Python would be a great choice.
Also remember, whichever profession you are, the ability to think critically is always appreciated. So you can practise thinking in that direction.
In a nutshell, If you have the right skillsets, then any years' of the gap is of no importance. Learn Not only SPECIALIZED courses but also COMMON skills. It will leave you with better chances of landing in a job.
Best of luck!!
