The equivalent for Ms word in Apple is called Pages.
There are 6 key difference between Ms word and pages
1. Price
Pages are free compared to MS word.
2. Availability
Ms word can be installed on any platform. But the problem is that in mobile or any other short form device you can't use advanced features of Ms word.
But in Pages you can use in any variant of Apple be it iPhone, ipad, MacBook etc.
3. Readymade Templates
In Ms-Word you have templates but if you want to have more specific templates then Pages will be the best option.
4. Ease of use
Ms-word is bit difficult i would not say impossible for some like beginner it will be bit difficult to understand the various tabs. But in apple the interface is very easy and simple to create and understand.
Overall I would say for your personal use you can use pages and learn.
But for official, job or professional purpose you need to use MS-Word.
