Principles of management are the set of fundamental guidlines, rules, procedure that lets a company run a smooth business; help the management in decision making process. To be more specific, these guide the management in terms of planning, organizing, controlling the operations including money, people, material, machines, markets & the correct way/method to do an activity/task.

Principles of management are provided by 2 people namely F. W. Taylor (Father of Scientific Management) & Henry Fayol (Father of General/Modern Management).

Following are the Scientific Principles of Management given by Frederick Winslow Taylor (F. W. Taylor):

1. Science, Not Rule of Thumb

2. Harmony, Not Discord

3. Cooperation, Not Individualism

4. Development of each and every person to his/her greatest efficiency

Following are the 14 principles of management given by Henry Fayol:

1. Division of Work

2. Authority and Responsibility

3. Discipline

4. Unity of Command

5. Unity of Direction

6. Subordination of Individual Interest

7. Remuneration

8. Centralization

9. Scalar Chain

10. Order

11. Equity

12. Stability

13. Initiative

14. Esprit de Corps.

To conclude, these principles stand to be the pillars of an organisation; supporting the planning, organizig, controlling, coordination & decision making.

Following a strategy from the beginning is very important. I’ll give you a few general tips:

  1. Keep in mind that JEE is a marathon, not a race. You need to develop consistency. If you start your preparation in the summer vacation, you’ll have roughly 2 years of time to prepare for the April 2022 JEE Main. That’s a lot of time. If you are serious about getting a good rank, you need to use the time that you have to the fullest. Make studying daily a habit.
  2. With that being said, you don’t have to become a machine that studies all day. You are not a machine. Follow a healthy lifestyle. Don’t sacrifice your sleep, eat healthy, and exercise. You can pursue other hobbies as well, but do so in regulation. Don’t spend an entire day playing a video game or watching movies.
  3. The quality of your study time is more important than the hours you study. 6 hours of quality study time a day is enough, and better than studying unwillingly and without a purpose for 12 hours. Have breaks in between study sessions and drink water, otherwise you’ll find it hard to concentrate. If possible, remove all distractions from your study room.
