We keep setting goals for ourselves day in and day out, but are these goals really smart? I will briefly explain about SMART Goal Setting in this lesson.
It is very critical for goals to be SMART in order for them to be effective and meaningful.
SMART stands for:
S - Specific M - Measurable A - Attainable R - Realistic T - Time Bound
Whenever you set goals for yourself or your team always remember that they have to satisfy the above criteria. Let's take an example for better clarity. A goal to complete reading a particular book though is specific, measurable, attainable and realistic, is not time bound and thus is not a SMART Goal. So how to make it smart? Let's try: My goal is to compete reading a particular book by 20th February 2017.
Hope this lesson clarifies an important topic on goal setting which is very critical for success in today's world.
