I was in the 7th grade when I had my first experience with creative writing. My English teacher assigned us to write a short story, and I was really excited about it. I had always loved to read, and I thought that writing would be a great way to express myself. I spent a lot of time working on my story. I wanted to make sure that it was perfect. I revised and edited it over and over again. When I was finally finished, I was so proud of myself. I couldn't wait to share it with my teacher and my classmates. When I read my story aloud to the class, I was nervous at first. But then I started to relax and enjoy myself. I could see that my classmates were enjoying it too. They were laughing at the funny parts and getting excited at the suspenseful parts. When I finished reading, my teacher smiled and said, "That was really good. You have a real talent for writing." I was so happy to hear that. It made me feel like I had really accomplished something. That experience made me realize that I loved writing. I decided to take more English classes in high school and college.
