I like to call myself a visual artist rather than just a photographer. I like to create art using photography and editing techniques. I have mostly done freelancing work during my college days, that include wedding photography, fashion photography, documentary photography and product photography. I also like craft work, painting, etc.

Other than visual arts I like to cook which I have also taken up as a side business and will be pursuing a course in the field very soon.

Dear Urmila, The person behind the camera matters more than the camera. Yes of course the camera will guve you a wider range for experiencing photography. Also if you ever want to buy a camera, I would suggest you to do great deal of research before going ahead for one.

brother my suggestion would be Nikon if you want to take up photography. And for your question about which camera to buy, any low-end camera would work perfectly well. Invest the least on the body and the most on your lenses. Lenses will be helping you the most rather than the body. You can always switch... ...more

Invest the least on the body and the most on your lenses. Lenses will be helping you the most rather than the body. You can always switch bodies later on. Since you are a beginner you'll need a lot of motivation for experiments, so having a number of lenses will surely help you with that. Won't give many details on the lenses, but will surely suggest you buy a blocked lens, a telephoto lens(preferably the one which has a macro switch) and the basic 18-55. Anything that you don't understand just google it. GOOD LUCK.
