I am writing this from my own experience that I was an average student and used to fail and what most important happened was my parents accepted it.

After growing, I realised I lost many learning experiences because I did not have adequate resources to understand it. Including my family and I followed the education system as everyone did. I would suggest that please teach some memory training techniques and maths techniques like the Vedic maths at a proper child's age that is available. It will help to create a habit of studying in a relaxed way without worrying in future. And yes, please dont worry just don't give pressure to the child.
