Especially in India, English, if spoken fluently, with correct voice modulation, is a very powerful tool and helps people by boosting their self confidence greatly. This then results in better opportunities, and adds to ones overall personality.

Having lived abroad for the majority of my life in different countries and being a native english speaker, my personal perspective which is based upon my experience is summed up with this statement. Despite a persons education, intelligence and school / college degrees, English is spoken well will open door for you like no other skill that you have and will also help to get more and better opportunity.
