I would say, https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Learn/JavaScript is the best place to learn if you want real good knowledge in Javascript. Have a little bit patience and put some effort in learning Javascript, it will be very helpful for you understanding all the JS Libraries and Frameworks

Hi Ramya, In my experience, a two-fold approach works well: vigorous study combined with practical experience. As far study goes, some books and sites are better than others, but you could hardly go wrong going through the entirety of Eloquent Javascript ( http://eloquentjavascript.net/co... ). The online version has amazing interactive examples and exercises. Upon completion, Cody Lindley's JavaScript Enlightenment ( http://www.javascriptenlightenme... ) is a solid read for the intermediate JavaScripter. Lean heavily upon the MDN's JavaScript docs ( https://developer.mozilla.org/en... ) and try to avoid W3 Schools ( for reasons why, see http://w3fools.com/ ). Concerning practical application, the best advice is to build something. Anything. Decide upon a simple problem to solve, and attempt to solve it. JS Fiddle ( http://jsfiddle.net/ ) is a great testing ground, and makes it easier to share and collaborate on examples. Read other people's source, change it, break it, fix it. Become intimately acquainted with WebKit Developer Tools' JavaScript console and Firebug's JavaScript console. There aren't really very many shortcuts, though it is easier than it has ever been to learn to write solid JS. Practice makes perfect. :) read less

I will split the concept of learning a language and will stress on similarity between learning just any language like english and any coding language like JS. The similarity exists but many fail to understand because they are welcomed by an inhibition of learning the syntax of the language. However, the fear towards coding languages is generally irrational and not many try to make the plunge or help students make the plunge. The result is that outlook towards coding languages stays the same. The first and foremost way to learn javascript is to change one's outlook towards coding languages and consider them as any other language ( english, spanish ). Once the mindset is achieved you need to focus on conversing in that language. Yes, like every language, quality of how we speak only increase by speaking more often and being more expressive and finding more than one way to be able to communicate. In terms of a coding language, the communication actually happens with a machine. Yes, surprisingly you have to get in a beautiful relationship and keep communicating until you fulfil the task at hand. If you achieve the outlook and still fail to make progress, find a partner or a mentor who could help you stay involved and keep going. Eventually with time without any overhead or pressure you will become a proficient coder who would actually be able to handle all problems at hand.
