My teaching experience over the last six years has been a journey filled with joy, discovery, and personal growth. The key to my success lies in my fun-loving nature and my deep commitment to building strong, positive relationships with my students. ### The Beginning of My Journey When I first stepped into the classroom, I was nervous but enthusiastic. I knew English, of course, but teaching it? That was a whole new challenge. I realized early on that what students needed most wasn't just a knowledgeable teacher but one who could create an atmosphere of comfort and freedom in the classroom. The first lesson I learned was that teaching had to be interactive and dynamic if it was to truly engage the students. As someone who loves working with young learners, I found that injecting humor, lightness, and warmth into my teaching made all the difference. I believe that the learning environment should be lively and fun. Many students find learning English to be intimidating, especially if they struggle with grammar, comprehension, or expressing themselves. No question is too small or too simple, and I ensure that my students understand that asking questions is the key to learning. ### Creating a Fun Learning Atmosphere In my classroom, I focus on making learning enjoyable. For younger children, I often use fun role-playing activities. I encourage them to imagine they are characters in a story, practicing speaking and comprehension in a way that feels natural and playful. They’re not just learning English—they’re becoming storytellers, adventurers, and even heroes of their own tales. I’ve found that this approach makes them more eager to participate, and the learning feels effortless because they’re so engrossed in the activity. For older students, I blend entertainment with educational rigor. We engage in group discussions on relevant topics, dissecting texts not only for their grammatical structure but for the ideas they present. This sparks critical thinking, and students become active participants in their education. When they see learning as a process of discovery, they are far more likely to invest themselves in it fully. ### Building Trust and Encouraging Questions One of the most important aspects of teaching is building trust with students. They need to know that the classroom is a safe space where their ideas, questions, and even their mistakes are valued. I always tell my students, “There are no bad questions.” When children feel free to ask anything, they open themselves up to learning in a much deeper way. They engage not just with the material but with me, their classmates, and, most importantly, their own learning process. I’ve found that my students feel comfortable approaching me not just because I’m approachable but because I actively encourage them to share their thoughts. I make it clear from day one that our classroom is a collaborative space. If they’re struggling with a concept, I tell them to raise their hands and ask me to explain it again—no hesitation. This openness has led to many “aha” moments, where students who were once too shy to speak up are suddenly leading discussions and even helping their peers understand tough material. My teaching is guided by the belief that students need to feel valued. Whether they’re asking a question about a story we’re reading, discussing grammar, or expressing confusion over a writing assignment, I take the time to listen carefully. I respond not just with an answer, but with a question of my own to guide them toward deeper understanding. Part of my role as a teacher is to recognize those differences and provide the right balance of challenge and encouragement. Whether a student needs one-on-one attention or a creative way to understand a concept, I make sure that every child feels included and capable. When working with struggling students, I focus on positive reinforcement. Rather than pointing out mistakes, I celebrate progress. A student might not yet be able to write a perfect sentence, but if they’ve improved from the last lesson, that’s cause for celebration. This approach has made a significant impact on students who initially lacked confidence. They see that improvement is possible and that I’m there to support them every step of the way. On the other hand, for students who are excelling, I introduce more advanced materials or more complex writing prompts. I challenge them with new perspectives and encourage them to think critically and creatively about what they’ve learned. I love seeing students take their skills to new heights, and I’m always on the lookout for ways to push them just beyond their comfort zones. ### The Joy of Seeing Growth One of the most rewarding aspects of teaching is watching students grow, not only in their academic abilities but in their confidence and self-expression. Over the years, I’ve seen countless students who started out shy and uncertain become articulate, thoughtful individuals. It’s an amazing transformation to witness, and it’s a privilege to be part of that journey. I’ve had students come to me after class to thank me for making learning enjoyable and helping them feel comfortable enough to participate. Many of them mention that they used to be scared to ask questions, but now they feel free to speak up and engage with the material. That feedback is incredibly meaningful because it confirms that my teaching style is having a positive impact. As a teacher, I also grow with my students. That’s the kind of education that stays with them for a lifetime, and that’s the legacy I hope to leave as a teacher.
